W.Va. — Wanda L. (Saville) Dolly, 70, of Short Gap, W.Va., went home to
be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.
Born Oct. 1, 1941, in Ridgeley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James
E. and Erma B. (Abe) Saville.
Wanda graduated from Ridgeley High School and Catherman’s Business
School. She also took courses at the Savings and Loan Institute. In 1964,
Wanda graduated from the Dale Carnegie Institute.
She began her banking career at First Federals Savings and Loan in August 1961.
Over the years, Wanda had worked as a teller, receptionist and in the insurance
department. Later, her responsibilities were mainly with the savings department
as well as being secretary for the Board of Directors. Mrs. Dolly served the
bank for 42 years, retiring in 2003 under M&T Bank.
She was a member of the Pinto Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Arlie B. Dolly Jr.; one son, Dr. A.
Britton Dolly III and wife Karena, of Romney; two grandsons A. “Britt” Dolly IV
and Bryson K. Dolly, both of Romney; two sisters, Sandra Cosner, of
Charlottesville, Va., and Kathy Rice and husband Mike, of Ridgeley; three brothers,
Marvin Saville and wife Joy, Garry Saville and wife Shirley, and Troy Saville,
all of Ridgeley; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort
Ashby, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Pinto Mennonite Church on Friday
at 1 p.m. with Pastor Phil Dayton officiating. The family will receive friends
at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Pinto Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ted Harsh, Dick Helmick, Bill Hunter, John
“Lannie” Llewellyn, Justin Llewellyn, and Bob Wilt.
Memorial contributions may be made for Bulbar Palsy Research, c/o A.L.S.
Association, 1275 K Street, N.W., Ste. 1050, Washington, D.C. 20005.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Potomac
Valley Hospice for the kind, compassionate care provided to Wanda.
